IC-AEN 2024 — Conference Summary

International Conference on the Agro-Environmental Nexus • 17 November 2024 • Prague, Czech Republic • Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU)

About

IC-AEN 2024 took place on 17 November 2024 at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU), Prague, Czech Republic. The one-day forum focused on practical and science-based pathways to manage land, water and energy across agri-food systems under climate variability. The program combined invited keynotes and short technical talks to encourage fast knowledge exchange, clarity of methods and discussion of real-world deployment. A total of 73 participants joined from nine countries, including the Czech Republic, Poland, France, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Italy, as well as remote participation from China and Oman. Contributions spanned soil and land restoration, irrigation efficiency and reuse, environmental engineering for agri-food chains, the food–energy–water nexus, and climate adaptation measures in rural territories. All talks were delivered in English and recorded for internal archiving. Submitted manuscripts followed an IMRaD structure and were screened for scope, originality and methodological soundness. A double-blind selection with at least two expert reports per paper was applied. Only presented and camera-ready verified papers were retained in the set prepared for the publisher in the standard post-event timeframe. IC-AEN 2024 closed with a moderated discussion on reproducibility, data transparency and responsible use of metrics in agro-environmental research.
